Christmas in New York

There is something so special about Christmas in New York. If you’ve been following me for a while you know I love spending my holidays in the city. This has been a highly requested blog, so I am going to get straight to it with all my NYC faves.

Where to stay:

I have two personal suggestions. One is on the pricier side and the other is more budget friendly.

I love the Bowery mostly because of the location. I tend to spend most of my time in East Village and Soho, so the Bowery is always a go-to. It’s also a beautiful and unique hotel with amazing food on site.

The Westhouse Hotel is amazing because it’s three blocks from Central Park (5 min walk). It is also a cute boutique hotel that offers breakfast and evening tappas and drinks with the cost of your room, and the service is amazing!

Things to do:

There are seriously so many things you can do in New York at Christmas time so I am only going to list my absolute musts:

Bryant Park Christmas Village

The food trucks here are incredible. The shopping is also very cute for souvenirs and gifts.

Ice Skating at Rockefeller Center

This is on most peoples bucket list for a reason, it is so beautiful and the ice skating is so nostalgic.

FAO Schwarz Toy Store

Another nostalgic pick but the toy store at Christmas time has so many cool displays and I always go there for gifts and the nieces love them every time.

5th Ave Displays

If you are visiting New York you will inevitably walk down 5th ave but make sure you take in all the displays. Cartier and Saks are my faves.

Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Neapolitan Christmas Tre

I love visiting the MET at anytime of the year but during the holidays the displays and attention to detail are unmatched. It’s also a good place to visit if you want to avoid the cold.

Walk around Central Park

Last but not least! Make sure you take some time to walk around Central Park with some hot chocolate (preferably from Sant Ambroeus).

Restaurants

Serra by Birreria

Located in Eataly this is a cool one to visit, you walk through a grocery store to a back elevator and get brought up to this beautiful rooftop decked out with greenery and Christmas lights. The butternut squash ravioli and arancini are my top picks.

1803, Tribeca

New Orleans style food and live Jazz music, fun and vibrant restaurant, enough said. For my vegetarians, their vegan Jambalaya is insane.

Tavern on the Green

Garden and courtyard seating available right in Central Park and beautiful décor. I suggest going for lunch to get the best views.

Best shopping

Soho & 5th Ave

My top picks for shopping. There are so many options and very easy to get to by subway. But all the little Christmas markets are a great choice for souvenirs and gifts!

Hope you found some ideas for your trip to New York and Happy Holidays!

Xox,

Charlie
